the Supplementary provision of `1,36,78.44 lakh obtained in March 2013 proved
unnecessary and could have been restricted to a token provision wherever necessary.
(ii) Out of the saving of `18,53,34.13 lakh, only `17,89,72.70 lakh was surrendered in
March 2013.

Reduction in provision was the net effect of decrease of ` 2,62.95 lakh and an increase of
`0.74 lakh, while increase in provision was stated to be due to non-commencement of works
for want of administrative orders, specific reasons for increase have not been intimated
(August 2013).
Similar saving occurred during the years 2006-07 to 2011-12.
